Peter Ferris is a distinguished business owner, educator, and filmmaker celebrated for his work in arts, education, and peacebuilding. In 2019, he received a Lifetime Achievement Award for "World Peace Relations Through Education and the Arts" at the AFI World Peace Initiative at the Cannes Film Festival. This followed a similar award from the Sochi Film Festival in 2017, which also marked his selection as one of the world’s top 50 teachers by the Varkey Foundation’s Global Teachers Prize. His dedication to education continues through his role as a Global Teacher Ambassador.
Peter’s contributions have extended into the world of acting and film. In 2023, he co-designed a unique acting course for the British Stunt Register at the iconic Pinewood Film Studios in London. By 2024, Peter’s expertise led him to co-create acting programs for students and teachers in Shanghai, and he was invited to speak at the prestigious GET Summit, in partnership with Nobel-Fest in Kazakhstan.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Peter continued his outreach virtually, sharing his insights at over 30 international conferences and working with the World Peace Development and Research Foundation in India. His efforts also include the creation of the "Ring of Peace Learned in Lockdown" initiative, an ongoing international competition highlighting positive messages and resilience during challenging times.
Peter’s career began with acting, training at The Italia Conti Academy of Performing Arts and landing roles in notable BBC and theater productions. His versatile talent extends into music composition, where he composed for the UEFA Champions League Weekly and Universal Pictures’ animated feature, "Felix the Movie."
As a filmmaker, Peter has directed impactful documentaries and music videos, notably directing The Belfast Peaceline Project with David Lynch. He has spoken on innovative filmmaking techniques at South by Southwest (SXSW) and continues to promote accessible media creation through events and initiatives worldwide.
Peter’s lifetime commitment to the arts, education, and global peace initiatives has established him as a respected voice in international forums. His projects, such as The Ring of Peace, empower communities affected by conflict and PTSD, encouraging personal storytelling as a path to healing.
